Dr. Bao Jabbar

Dr. Bao Jabbar, D.M.D, M.S.D., M.P.H. is a Board Certified Implant and Periodontal Specialist. She also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

After receiving her Bachelor’s of Science at Santa Clara University, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine and Master’s of Public Health at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health with honors. Dr. Jabbar received the A.A.P Dental Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Jabbar completed her Periodontal Speciality and Master’s of Science at an intensive three-year specialty training program at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston Graduate Periodontics Program. She was mentored by world-renowned experts in the periodontal field and is proficient in all surgical aspects of periodontal surgery, including but not limited to implant placement, digital dentistry, guided bone regeneration, sinus augmentation, soft tissue management, surgical extractions, exposure of impacted teeth, laser dentistry, and conscious IV sedation dentistry.

She currently works closely with Dr. Ralph Vandersloot at Pleasanton Periodontics and Implants.

Dr. Jabbar is a Bay Area native and is active in several professional organizations, including the A.A.P, C.D.A, A.D.A, and C.C.D.S.

Ralph P. Vandersloot, DDS MS

Dr. Ralph Vandersloot is a graduate of Yale University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He then decided to pursue a career in dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 1971.

He was elected to the prestigious dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon while attending UCLA. After graduation, he worked as a general dentist for 9 years until 1980 when he decided to follow his passion of specializing in Periodontics. He was delighted to return to UCLA again where he received his Post-Doctoral Education in Periodontology and his Master of Science in Oral Biology in 1982. Since 1982, Dr. Vandersloot has devoted himself to providing excellent periodontal care and implant therapy to patients in the East Bay Tri-Valley Area (Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon and Livermore).

He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the California Society of Periodontology. He has enjoyed helping patients with their oral health over many years of service to the community.

After 40 years devoted to the periodontal health of my patients, I have decided to retire and transition my private periodontal practice in Pleasanton.

I am so pleased to announce that Dr. Bao Jabbar will continue my periodontal practice with the utmost excellence.

Dr. Jabbar is a Bay Area native who grew up in Mountain View. She received her Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology at Santa Clara University and earned her Master of Public Health and Doctorate of Dental Medicine with honors at Arizona School of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Jabbar was awarded the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Achievement in Periodontology and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Jabbar completed her periodontal training and Master of Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Dentistry, where she was mentored by world-renowned experts in Periodontology.

You will find that Dr. Jabbar is compassionate with exceptional clinical and has the utmost concern for the periodontal health of her patients. Our wonderful team— Nina, Vicki and Gabi will continue to work with Dr. Jabbar in making the transition as seamless as possible. In addition, Dr. Lucille Guastella (1983 DDS-UCLA School of Dentistry; 1987 UCSF-Certificate in Periodontology) will personally introduce many of you to Dr. Jabbar over the next few months and help with this transition phase.

I have greatly appreciated your confidence in me over the years. I have been honored to have been your provider for your periodontal health for many years….many of you have been loyal patients and I have had the pleasure of getting to know you over time.
